Implementation requires networking the researchers with the organizations, groups, or individual persons that are interested in the results of the research projects. It contributes towards bringing the results into the political and public discussion and fosters practical application.
The target audience of NRP 61 are especially the authorities responsible for use and protection of water resources and the prevention of water hazards (the Swiss Confederation, cantons, and municipalities), actors in the private sector, water users, professional associations, and environmental organizations confronted with the issue of water. Knowledge transfer will take place in particular via interdisciplinary research projects that involve the crucial actors.
